• Latest Ofsted Consultation
  ‘Good Early Years Provision For All’ – proposals to changes to the inspection of early years provision. This document contains information and proposals that will come into effect from September 2013. Providers are welcome to make their own submission. Hampshire will be considering this consultation and submitting a response.
• Hampshire Learning Workshops
  Hampshire Learning are able to offer free workshops to pre-schools in Hampshire delivering a variety of activities for parents and children. If your pre-school would like to take part in encouraging parents to develop their own skills, develop their child’s language and promote positive family relationships please click for further details.
• Changes to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) payroll reporting
  All settings need to be aware of the changes regarding their responsibility to providing pension schemes for their employees and making payments to HMRC in real time. • Headcount and EYSFF Bandings
  New banding rates will have been emailed to settings’ business email accounts in preparation for headcount. Headcount day is on 18 April and headcount forms will be sent out in the post a few days before.
• Change of Name for NCMA
  We have been informed that the National Childminding Association (NCMA) has now become the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY). Please find attached a letter from the chief executives explaining this.
• Consultation on Proposed Changes to the Role of the Local Authority in Early Education and Childcare
  You will be interested to read this consultation which has just been released by the Department for Education (DfE). SfYC will be making a response by the deadline of 6 May.

Criteria for Early Years educator qualifications (level 3)

The government has launched a public consultation on the minimum requirements for what an Early Years educator should know, understand and be able to do to be considered qualified at level 3 when delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is the link to the consultation document:
