Welcome to the monthly bulletin from SfYC.

  • Quality Improvement Training
    We are very pleased to report that there has been an excellent take up for the new training subscription scheme and are able to confirm that, subject to minimum course numbers being reached, we expect all the Quality Improvement Training programme courses to run as planned. An email has be sent to all training scheme subscribers detailing when/how they can book their places – if you have not yet received this email, please contact us. If you have chosen not to join the new scheme, you can still attend the Quality Improvement Training programme courses by making a payment of £100 per person per course when booking. Details of how to book will be available on our web pages shortly.

  • New Rates for Tax Credits 2014/2015
    HM Revenue and Customs have announced slight increases in the rates available for Working and Child Tax Credits. There is also a small rise for Child Benefit and Guardian Allowance rates:

  • Free HMRC webinars for Childminders in April
    HMRC is providing advice for Childminders. This is delivered through online presentations (webinars) that are pre-recorded or live. Feedback has shown that customers find these products very helpful. Please click for further information.
  • Childminder Agency Consultation
    The DfE has published a consultation seeking views on: the introduction of childminder agencies. The consultation will run until 22 May and can be accessed at:
